The Pakkred Babies home is a wonderful facility located around 40 minutes drive from Bangkok. The center provides a loving home for 320 infants aged from birth to 5 years of age. The children are brought to the center from hospitals or public places where they have been abandoned. Also from broken homes where the parents are not suitable and children who are basically homeless. Focus is on the physical and mental well being of the children. This is achieved by providing the infants a proper diet, bodily comforting, talking, massage, social activities, vaccinations and a healthy environment. Daily routines are taught and the children enjoy special occasions such as Thai New Year, Children’s day and mother’s day. Every effort is made to reunite the children with their former families however 80% of the children are adopted out.

Currently the orphanage especially needs:
- Baby Milk powder
- UHT Milk for young children
- Diapers
- Clothing, underwear pants
- baby talcum powder
- baby bottles

The staff’s loyalty and love for the children are obvious and a visit to Pakkred is a happy, memorable experience. 

Visitors to the orphanage are very welcome between 9.00 am and 11.00
am and 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If you would like a tour of the facilities appointments are preferred. Please contact Siriwan at Destination Asia at least 4 weeks prior to your departure date from Australia to arrange a suitable date and time. She will need your flight details, address and contact in Australia, place of stay in Bangkok and any transport requirements if needed. If you do not visit with a representative of Destination Asia please ensure you travel with an english speaking Thai person. The staff do not speak English and communication will be a problem.  

Please note:  The centre do not allow visitors to hold or make physical contact with the children.  Visitors can view the children and centre only.

The centre do take volunteers but only for extended periods and volunteers must be self supported.
